In order to avoid 'international shame,' Kalonzo requests that President Ruto review the list of cabinet nominees.

Now, according to Kalonzo Musyoka, the leader of the Wiper Party, President William Ruto should not have nominated a number of people for his 22-member Cabinet on the basis that their integrity is questioned.

In his remarks at the Wiper Command Centre on Friday, Musyoka emphasized how several of the nominees have active criminal cases in court, which he claimed is a clear indication that they are undeserving of the aforementioned dockets.

"There is no dispute about the choice of the Cabinet Secretaries, some of them have incredibly active criminal cases. What are our legislators being asked to do? To prevent embarrassment on a national and even worldwide scale, if I were William Ruto, I would completely withdraw some of these "He stated.

But Kalonzo assured the nation that MPs from his party and the wider Azimio la Umoja Coalition would raise the nominees' integrity issues in Parliament, where prospective CSs will be reviewed in the coming days.

President Ruto will be forced to nominate replacements who will also go through the same procedure before lawmakers if the House rejects any of the Cabinet nominees' credentials.

He declared, "This (the nominations) were not done in a procedural manner, and we shall instruct our MPs to withhold approval of those who do not satisfy the requirements of Chapter 6 of the Constitution."

Musyoka demanded information from the head of state and questioned the origin of the Ksh.3.5 billion fertiliser subsidy that President Ruto announced just days after taking office.

As opposed to Ksh. 6,500 for a similar amount, the President ordered that 1.4 million bags of fertilizer be made available to farmers at a maximum subsidized price of Ksh. 3,500 each 50Kg bag.

"Additionally, we are now unsure of how, when, and where this fertilizer was obtained. Does it even adhere to KEBS requirements? "In a stance.

"The procurement procedure for this fertiliser subsidy should thus be made public by this administration. Our MPs have been ordered to launch an investigation into the matter."
